Financial Foundations
Somehow, we’ve gotten off track of thoughtful, values-based spending. Social media influencers who drive sales for their sponsors, leave us ith FOMO -- Fear of Missing Out on the sale or the latest trend in fashion can derail our thoughtful spending. Home improvement shows have us fixed on creating the perfect showcase home. Bombarded with these choices, and being influenced on what to buy, can take our focus off of spending our money on the things we value most.
2020 is upon us, and this may be the best time to realign our spending with our values. We will review values, principles, and talk about how to get back on track. December is a great time to review your 2019 goals, and create your plan for 2020. Having goals creates good habits so we will discuss creating the right mindset to put your values-based goals in place.
Sheri is the author of Do I Have To?, a book written to help the younger generations create a solid financial plan from the time they start earning money. She teaches the importance of staying connected to the values and principles taught by their parents, grandparents or mentors. Believing that wiser life choices are made when this key fundamental is applied; especially when it comes to how one spends money. Inside the pages of Do I Have To? is guidance on how young adults can begin to align their spending with their values and principles to create the financial balance needed to spend wisely, stay out of debt and save for their future. More importantly, stay off their parent’s payroll!
